Introduction

Use this article to generate and download a Simple Order Application Programming Interface (API) security key from the CyberSource Business Center. This key authenticates transactions submitted through the Simple Order API.

Understanding Simple Order API Security Keys

Generate Simple Order API security keys in the CyberSource Business Center. The key downloads as a .p12 file, which is a Public-Key Cryptography Standards (PKCS) #12 file published by RSA Laboratories. Store this file securely on your server and reference it in your API integration.

Completing the Key Generation Process

1. Sign in to the Business Center environment where you submit transactions (Test or Production).
2. Select Payment Configuration and then Key Management in the navigation pane to see all API keys available for your Merchant Identification (ID).
3. Select + Generate Key.
4. Select Simple Order API as the key type.
5. Select Generate key.
6. Review the instructions and select Download key.
7. When the Set Password page appears, enter and confirm your password.
8. After you download the key, it appears on the Key Management dashboard.
9. The .p12 file saves to your Downloads folder.
10. Copy the .p12 file to the appropriate location on your server.
