Problem Description

You receive an error message when generating a .p12 security key for the Simple Order API.

The error message may appear similar to the following example:

Unable to process the certificate request. Server returned HTTP response code: 400 for URL: https://api.cybersource.com/merchant-mgmt/v1/keysets/transactionKey The certificate processing system is unavailable. Please try again later.

Cause

While generating a .p12 security key from the applet, you may have selected Yes when prompted to block 'unsafe' components from running. if so, the browser prevented the applet from running, and displayed the error message, "Generating the certificate request. This may take several seconds. Unable to generate the certificate request."

Resolution

1. Restart the key generation process 
2. Choose No if prompted

• Use a different browser and update to the latest version
• Update to the most current version of Java
• Clear your browser cache and cookies
• Add the relevant URLs to your Java installation's exception list
• Reach out to your IT team to ensure no firewalls are blocking the Java applet from downloading the JNLP file
• Run the JNLP file from the same computer you downloaded it to
• Run the JNLP file before you log out of the Business Center
• Run the JNLP within the passcode/token life-span of 5 minutes
