Introduction
This article provides step-by-step instructions for configuring security credentials, installing the Cybersource app on Shopify, and enabling fraud management features such as 3-D Secure. The procedures outlined below will help you set up Cybersource payment processing and fraud solutions for your Shopify store.
Procedure
1. Create a Cybersource Business Center Account
Before installing the Cybersource app, you must have a Cybersource Business Center account.
- Go to the Business Center Registration website and register for a new account.
- Follow the activation instructions sent to your email.
- Log in to the Business Center to complete the registration process.
2. Install the Cybersource App on Shopify
You can install either the Cybersource CAS app for testing or the Cybersource Live app for production use.
Install the Cybersource CAS App (Sandbox)
- Go to https://apps.shopify.com/cybersource-cas.
- Select the app and click Install.
- Grant the required permissions to the payment app.
- Log in to the Business Center with your Cybersource credentials.
- Review and accept the agreement.
- Select or clear the 3-D Secure enrollment box based on your business needs.
- If you enroll in 3-D Secure, ensure the Payer Authentication feature is enabled and configured.
- Submit the form. The Shopify store settings page will reopen for further configuration.
- Repeat these steps for each Shopify store you manage.
Install the Cybersource Live App (Production)
- Go to https://apps.shopify.com/cybersource.
- Select the app and click Install.
- Grant the required permissions to the payment app.
- Log in to the Business Center with your Cybersource credentials.
- Review and accept the agreement.
- Select or clear the 3-D Secure enrollment box as appropriate.
- If you enroll in 3-D Secure, ensure the Payer Authentication feature is enabled and configured.
- Submit the form. The Shopify store settings page will reopen for further configuration.

3. Configure Shopify Payments
- Log in to your Shopify account.
- Navigate to Settings > Payments > Manage.
- Select the card brands and payment methods you want to accept.
- Click Save.
4. Enable and Configure 3-D Secure
If you plan to use 3-D Secure, you must enable Payer Authentication.
- Contact Cybersource support or your account manager to request Payer Authentication with direct integration.
- Once enabled, log in to your Business Center account.
- Go to Payment Configuration > Payer Authentication Configuration.
- Retrieve your Org Unit ID, API Identifier, and API Key for use in Shopify.
- Verify Payer Authentication credentials to ensure transactions support 3-D Secure flows.
