Procedure

Miura M010

Bluetooth Connectivity Configuration

You can connect the card reader to a mobile device (smartphone or tablet) using Bluetooth pairing. Configuring this connection is done in two steps. The first step activates pairing on the card reader and the second step initiates the actual pairing with your smartphone or tablet.

The card reader can be paired with only one mobile device at a time and must go through the pairing process before it can be connected to another mobile device.

In some cases, the card reader device name might still appear in the list of connected Bluetooth devices on one mobile device, even after it has been connected to another mobile device. Before starting the pairing process on another mobile device, delete the card reader device name from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on the first mobile device.

On the card reader, do the following:

  1. Start the card reader by pressing the power key and wait until the Bluetooth logo appears in the upper left corner of the screen.
  2. Hold down the green key until the Bluetooth symbol located in the upper left corner of the display starts to blink.

After completing the task, switch over to your phone and do the following:

  1. In the Settings app, go to Bluetooth and make sure it is turned on. In the Devices section, a device named Miura should appear.
  2. To select the device and initialize pairing, tap the device name.
  3. Tap the Pair button in the alert that appears.

On the card reader, do the following:

Press the green key to confirm the pairing.

On your phone, do the following:

Verify that Connected is displayed next to the device name in the Devices section.

USB Connectivity Configuration

In order to connect to a Miura card reader via USB, the device must be in USB Serial Mode. Contact Customer Support to enable USB mode for your application. Otherwise, the update will be removed from the reader.

  1. Download the ZIP file containing the Miura configuration files.
  2. Connect the Miura M010 card reader to a Windows PC via USB. A new drive called MIURA should appear.
  3. Copy the two files from the folder 3 USB Serial Mode to the MIURA drive.
  4. Eject the MIURA drive and disconnect the USB cable.
  5. The card reader will put itself into USB Serial Mode.
  6. Verify that the Miura idle screen now shows a USB symbol in the upper left.
