A VAR (value added reseller) sheet, also referred to as a tear sheet, is a document that describes your account with your merchant bank (acquirer) or merchant services provider (MSP). Visa Acceptance Solutions (including Cybersource) references this information when configuring your account for transaction processing.

Although the format and details of a VAR Sheet will vary, it usually contains the following essential information:

  • Name of Payment Processor
  • Merchant ID (used by processor)
  • Terminal ID (used by processor)
  • Currency(ies) supported
  • Payment types: Credit Card, ACH, e-check, alternative payments, . . .
