Introduction

Use this article to match the funds credited to your bank account with the card activity you process through Cybersource Merchant Acquiring (MA) on the Global Payments Network (GPN). Begin with the standard Business Center reports. If your totals still do not balance, contact Merchant Acquiring Support for assistance.

Who Should Use This Article

  • Finance, accounting, and treasury staff who post daily card deposits.
  • Merchants funded directly by Cybersource through GPN.

What You Need

  • Business Center access with the Reporting role.
  • Ability to download CSV files or call the Reporting API (/reporting/v3/report-downloads).
  • The bank statement (or online-banking detail) that shows the deposit you plan to reconcile.

Key Terms

Processing day
The UTC batch date that captures your sales and refunds.
Funding day
The calendar day the net amount posts to your bank account.
Transaction Reference Number
The Acquirer Reference Number (ARN) supplied by GPN and displayed in Business Center reports.

Procedure

  1. Locate the deposit in your bank
    1. Sign in to your online-banking portal.
    2. Find the credit posted by Cybersource.
    3. Note the posting date and the descriptor (for example, GPN* 843217).
  2. Download Deposit Details
    1. Sign in to Business Center.
    2. Select Reporting ▸ Financial / Reconciliation ▸ Deposit Details.
    3. Filter on the funding date you captured in step 1.
    4. Export the report (.csv).
    5. Confirm that Amount and Descriptor match your bank entry.
  3. Download Funding Details
    1. Return to Financial / Reconciliation and select Funding Details.
    2. Filter on the processing date that is two (T+2) or three (T+3) business days before the funding date.
    3. Export the report (.csv).
  4. Download Fee Details
    1. Still in Financial / Reconciliation, select Fee Details.
    2. Use the same processing date you used in step 3.
    3. Export the report (.csv).
  5. Verify the net amount

    Use the formula below (all amounts in the same currency):

    Gross Sales (Funding Details)
    − Refunds / Credits (Funding Details)
    − Interchange & Assessment Fees (Fee Details)
    − Cybersource Processing Fees (Fee Details)
    = Expected Net Amount
    

    Expected Net Amount must equal:

    • The Amount column in Deposit Details.
    • The amount on your bank statement.

  1. Contact Merchant Acquiring Support (if needed)

    Contact Support when:

    • The bank deposit is missing from Deposit Details.
    • Fee totals do not balance to the penny.
    • You need an enhanced funding file with additional GPN trace data.
