Creating and Managing a Rest API Shared Secret Key in CyberSource Business Center
Use this guide to generate a Shared Secret Key and save the Key ID in CyberSource Business Center. These credentials authenticate transactions through the Representational State Transfer Application Programming Interface (REST API).
Understanding Shared Secret Keys
A Shared Secret Key authenticates REST API requests to CyberSource transaction endpoints. Generate the key in Business Center, then securely download or copy the key values. Save the Key ID for ongoing use.
Performing the Procedure
Generating a Shared Secret Key
- Sign in to the Test Business Center or Production Business Center.
- Select Payment Configuration then Key Management.
- Select + GENERATE KEY.
- Select Generate Key.
- Select the radio button for REST APIs – REST – Shared Secret Key.
- Select Generate Key.
- Download the key or copy the values using the copy icons next to Key and Shared Secret.
Saving the Key ID
- Select Key Management.
- Select Key Type then REST – Shared Secret (or the desired key type).
- Locate your new Shared Secret Key in the list. Sort by date to find the most recent key.
- Select the key identifier in the Keys column.
- Copy the value to the right of Key Detail and save it in a secure location. This value is the Key ID.
